You’ve been living and working in Turkey for a while and now you want to apply for a Turkish residence permit. This is what you need to know to get your paperwork in order.

Many people come to Turkey with their family or want to get their own resident permit. For this, some documents have to be prepared and brought from the country. That is what I will discuss today.
Extending a tourist visa after arriving in Turkey is called a tourist resident permit. This permit is not issued in all locations in Turkey. As it is currently stopped in Istanbul. It is giving according to the latest information where I live, i.e. Bursa. But six months. To do this you need to prepare the documents from the country.

1. Marriage Certificate: If you want to come with your family, you must get your marriage certificate in English translation and get it attested by the Ministry of Law and Overseas Welfare. Then that copy should be attested by the Turkish Embassy.

2. Birth Certificate: If you have children with you then English copies of the children’s birth certificates must be obtained first, then attested by the Civil Surgeon or Ministry of Law. Then it has to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally it has to be attested by the Turkish Embassy.

Note: These documents need not be attested in original.
Note 2: Birth certificate is required for children only. Birth registration of parents is not required.

3. Address Document: Since you will be opening a bank account here, they want a document to verify your address in your country so you can show your driving license where your address is given, or your passport using the name and address given either. Bring utility bills (electricity/water/gas/internet).

You must first open a tax account after arriving in Turkey, so you can do so online. For that you will need a Turkish mobile number.

To open a bank account you will need your rental agreement in Turkey, take it with you.

The English certified copy of birth certificate and marriage certificate brought from the country must be notarized with Turkish translation.

1. Gather the required documents. These include your passport, two passport-sized photos, a completed application form and proof of health insurance.
